Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the co-op third-person shooter sequel from Cold Iron Studios and publisher Daybreak Game Company, now has a firm release date. The team confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that the game will officially launch on August 25. The title arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
What's new in the sequel
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be largely similar to its predecessor but now supports 4-player co-op. It will include a new customizable Specialist class and feature new Xenomorph varieties. New threats include swarming Xenomorphs, Pathogen horrors, and Weyland-Yutani synths across intense combat modes.
Game director Chris Cross commented on the project at its May 2026 announcement:
"With Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, we're doubling down on the action and the terror, delivering an experience worthy of the Alien franchise."
The sequel expands the action to four players, introduces new character classes including a fully customizable Specialist, and takes the fight to immersive new environments across the Aliens universe.
Editions and pricing
Developer Cold Iron Studios has announced the release date for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, scheduling it for launch on 25 August 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game will be available in both Standard and Premium digital editions, retailing for US$49.99 and US$69.99, respectively.

The Premium Edition, officially titled the "40th Anniversary Premium Edition", comprises two extra packs: Herk Mondo's Pest Pack and Ripley's Hive Exterminator Pack.
Ripley's Hive Exterminator Pack draws on one of film's most recognisable characters - it includes an exclusive cosmetic outfit themed to Ellen Ripley's appearance near the dramatic climax of the 1986 film Aliens. All player-created characters can wear the outfit, and players can also exclusively wield Ripley's modified pulse rifle, featuring a fiery surprise, along with exclusive decals.
Herk Mondo's Pest Pack draws inspiration from the over-the-top comic-book hero and includes an appropriately wild outfit, perfect for taking on xenomorphic threats.
An additional Rain's Jackson's Star Pack DLC will also be available separately for US$9.99.
