The puzzles are super tedious, while creative, they stretch for so long, its just chore after chore, because it has so many steps and so many rooms with so many steps to complete some of the puzzles. I realy suffered through those parts. The combat is good, writing is sometimes exceptionally good, sometimes horrific. About half way through i just wanted to finish the game and didnt know it will take so long. Design is good, visuals good, premise good, but its just cartoony, watered down, way more grindy and boring version of AC:Odyssey ( and i I am fully aware of how repetetive some aspects of Odyssey were, but at least you had choice how to approach them )
It is very hard to avoid comparing Immortals to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Despite obvious inspirations it is a typical Ubi-game with all its pros and cons, an inventory screen copied almost exactly from Assassin’s Creed, and a store with premium items. Anyhow, it’s Ubisoft’s most interesting game in years, definitely worth checking out for its satisfying exploration accompanied by simple combat and tons of good puzzles.

However, he manages to show himself original in very cool aspects, such as a more humorous narrative and an excellent, more cartoonish artistic style. I recommend it to all fans of both traditional franchises like Zelda and Assassin's Creed as well as lovers of the RPG genre and open world games!

Combat is fluid and challenging, the landscape and art style are beautiful, but the voice acting (especially between Zeus and Prometheus) is where this game really puts a smile on your face. Enemy encounters can feel a little repetitive, and much of the game comes across a fetch quest, but there’s still enough there to keep them entertaining. This game wants really bad to be Breath of the Wild, but does its own thing enough to keep it from being a straight up clone.

Play as Fenyx on a quest to save the Greek gods by taking on mythological beasts, master the legendary powers of the gods, and defeat Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology, in an epic battle of the ages. Immortals Fenyx Rising’s settings, systems, and story are packed with references to iconic deities and legendary tales, but always with tongue planted firmly enough in cheek that it avoids coming off as self-important. All this makes for a great set-up that’s complimented by enjoyable combat, but the puzzle design across this colorful open world is somewhat disappointing. In a game about heavenly gods and fantastical monsters, the puzzles are far too simple by earthly standards. I execute a stealth attack on the Minotaur while dancing about while slashing away with my sword. I follow that up by hurling chunks of stone, and shooting off a couple arrows. It took me a few tries to defeat it, the spoils and the battles leading to my eventual victory were worth it as I scored a better piece of armor and some loot for my efforts. Open-world games often struggle to balance their serious storytelling against the actions of the player that just wants to weather the journey in their own way, but the Greek pantheon is ideal fodder and Immortals doesn’t miss the opportunity to lean into it. The idea is that our story is being told to Zeus by Prometheus, allowing the two gods to bicker and heckle as you play. Many of the game's puzzles involve the Bracers of Herakles, which let Fenyx grab and throw heavy objects. Dropping boxes on pressure plates is a common occurrence, as is firing arrows through braziers to set things on fire and rolling giant obstacles around. The puzzles draw from a somewhat shallow pool of interactions, but they reappropriate them in some clever ways. Immortals gameplay is fun, but failed to cast a spell on me and remain my mind when I wasn't playing in a way that really separate the decent games from the truly amazing ones. Most games borrow and iterate, but Immortals doesn't get that balance quite right. There isn't much distinct to think about here, and already it remains in my head not as a grand undertaking but as bits and pieces of stuff I quite enjoyed, a switch or a pressure plate resurfacing now and then. Not only is it charming, but Immortals Fenyx Rising's world is a pleasure to explore and complete fun to play. Stuffed with combat, collectibles, mysteries, puzzles, and a healthy serving of humor there's a definite bang for he price of admission. With all this in mind I can easily recommend Immortals Fenyx Rising on Xbox One to you, it just misses the mark of being exceptional.
It’s a new intellectual property, albeit set in the “played out” world of Greek mythology, and built from the foundations of the “Assassin’s Creed” series. And like most Ubisoft games, the writing and character work leaves a lot to be desired.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is always going to be compared to Breath of the Wild, but against all odds, it puts up a massively formidable fight. What's excellent about Immortals is not so much what it shares with Nintendo's biggest Zelda game, but rather where it differs, offering a fresh new approach to storytelling, a fantastic progression system, and a world that you'll never want to leave. No game is perfect, but for me, Immortals comes just about as close as you can get.

I was drawn to it for the art style, I love that type of lush and beautiful fantasy world, the character creation and customisation..but I stayed to complete the game because I fell in love with Fenyx and her story.I really really am not a fan of puzzle games and there were times I was getting stressed and frustrated especially as my fingers just couldn't get the jumps and keyboard co-ordination right but apart from that I had no troubles.(Well lots and lots of crashes and freezes but Im used to those)The amounts of armours and weapons to find was wonderful. I also loved all the customisation options like hairstyles and eye colours, skin colours, I really looked forward to getting back to the hall of the Gods to try on new armour with different hair colours and eye colours.I must say i was also impressed with the designs of the armours, I think there was something for everyone, heavier armours, lighter ones, really pretty materials, some with little glitter effects. My favorite was the blue and white glittery toga, it was gorgeous!!Why couldn't the other game released recently have been more like this?I really really hope this game gets game of the year because to me its a smashing game, not completely my style but absolutely beautifully made and a treat to play.

My main problem with BotW was the equipment and weapons systems and some of the puzzles got repetitive. This has none of that PLUS more customization options. Now if you want more about this game, it´s amazing, it´s an open world game that borrows from RPG and Platformers, it´s similar to BOTW but has it´s own essence based on it´s focus and greek mythology. Now, if you´re more interested in graphics instead of portability, go for the PS5 o Xbox versions, but I´m sure you´ll enjoy the version you buy.
The blandness of the gameplay might have been somewhat forgivable if the game’s narrative didn’t suffer from an identity crisis.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is an enjoyable and fun adventure, with a classic open-world gameplay structure in a fascinating and humourous setting. We would have liked more enemy variety, but even so, it's definitely a game to take in consideration.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is one of the best adventures of the year, with one of the most beautiful and spectacular open worlds of the last decade, earning a place on the podium of the genre. The exploration is organic, the map is packed with activities to do, the skill tree is vast and truly useful, and the combat is some of the best I've seen in the genre.

Immortals Fenyx Rising may not do much to push the open-world action adventure genre forward, but it does still ultimately succeed at being yet another competent release cut from the all too familiar Ubisoft cloth.
Although Immortals Fenyx Rising seems like a Breath of the Wild clone, it's done so well that gives you a great time, and even fill the gap for those who don't own a Nintendo Switch and can't play the Zelda series.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a superb new IP from Ubisoft. It may borrow heavily from other titles, but don’t get hung up on it. This isn’t a cash grab. It’s a beautiful game and a quality product, crafted with love.

It's Greek mythology with humour, wit and a little wisdom weaved in. I was laughing out loud at some of the dialogue but sometimes it is a bit much, especially when the jokes just keep going and going. Everyone is comparing it to Zelda but at least Ubisoft changes the story to their games every time rather than the same characters and locations with a slightly new variation. You might not complete everything the game has to offer but you'll enjoy your time till the end battle.

Credit where credit is due. Ubisoft made a good game with Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I never thought I'd have to say that about an Ubisoft gameCredit where credit is due. Ubisoft made a good game with Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I never thought I'd have to say that about an Ubisoft game again but this game is actually quite good. The combat is a blast. The exploration is fun. The story is corny and lighthearted but I enjoy that sort of humor. (It may be annoying to some.) Most shocking is that the game runs smooth and I've encountered no bugs, glitches or crashes. (Played on PS4 Pro.) That is remarkable for an Ubisoft game.I have zero love for Ubisoft but I will give a good game a good score every time. Give it a shot.
A lot of critics are looking down on this game because it copies a lot of its core ideas from Breath of the Wild. But you know what? This gameA lot of critics are looking down on this game because it copies a lot of its core ideas from Breath of the Wild. But you know what? This game does all of those things better. It's so much fun to move in this game. You have so much stamina and so many ways to use it after just a little bit of exploration and upgrades. No two players will travel across a field or gap in exactly the same way. Platforming challenges are always a joy, and there's way more variety in puzzles because there are so many ways to move Fenyx around.Combat is super complex, and with dozens of buffs to choose from based on your two armor pieces and three weapons, there are so many different ways to tune fights to your liking. Even with combos that feel super OP at times, encounters are rarely a cakewalk, and you're encouraged to keep exploring to find potion ingredients even all the way into the endgame. The game has so many systems and ways that you interact with the world, and there are rewards that help upgrade everything. As a result, exploration always feels rewarding because you're not just going to find a weapon when you've been full for the last 12 hours, and you're not just going to find 1/4 of a heart when you already have 20. You can find shards to upgrade your armor and weapons to help with combat, or you can find coins to upgrade your abilities to help with puzzles or even let you skip some of them entirely. The writing is funny too, and even though not every line hits, you actually care about the characters and empathize with them when they are sad or feel hurt. The story gives you good reasons to explore the entire environment and its dedication to realistic Greek Mythology (as opposed to Disney nonsense) is admirable.Basically, the tl;dr is if Breath of the Wild is a 10/10, this game is an 11/10. It's just that good.

There is character development, though a lot of the game is seemingly based on 3 weapon styles - light, heavy, and bow - there is no magic or other type of class build limiting the 'god'. I like the quirkiness of the monologue and the character interactions.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is the baby of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, and while the latter's inspiration is quite visible here, Immortals charm, be it from its story telling or style, covers up for a lot of the comparisons, making it a unique experience.

As an adaptation of the Assassin's Creed RPG style to a breezier, more open and more playful world, Immortals Fenyx Rising is a total success. It might come off second best to Breath of the Wild, and its chatty and light-hearted take on subject matter traditionally treated in games as dark and bloody might not be to everyone's taste, but the treatment of greek myth's gods and monsters here makes for a delightful experience in its own right.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a wonderfully crafted epic in which Ubisoft Quebec celebrate rather than shay away from their influences to deliver humour and action in equal doses.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is much more than a simple Zelda: Breath of the Wild clone. Ubisoft's open-world epic adventure delivers a compelling and fun game that we hope will become a new, successful franchise.
As a newly unique offering from Ubisoft, Immortals Fenyx Rising is something to savour. Yeah, it’s the publisher's third massive open-world release in the space of three months but what you get here is charming and refreshing to a fault. A wonderfully realised journey into myth and legend where everything fits as neatly as a chest-plate forged in the fires of Hephaistos’s Great Forge. The story, the combat, the puzzles, the exploration, the challenge, the Creed, the Zelda. The Fenyx.
It’s hard to know which is more impressive here, the complete lack of shame in how much Ubisoft copies Zelda: Breath Of The Wild or the fact that Immortals suffers the comparison so impressively well.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is very similar to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but that's a good thing. An extensive and motivating action-adventure game with a really beautiful world.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is an excellent adventure with challenging and intricate puzzles, a wonderful combat system, and a rich world ripe for exploring.
While it may seem a little basic at first, and players may wander into encounters that they’re really not prepared for, it soon settles down into a hugely enjoyable historical romp that is suitable for all ages and skill levels. The cutesy art style is just the icing on the cake, drawing you into a world that is charming and vibrant. With its clear Breath of the Wild inspirations, Ubisoft’s Immortals Fenyx Rising might just be the surprise hit of the year.
From stoner oracles to gods who have been turned into trees, to the sheer batshittiness of its entire cast of gods and monsters, Immortals Fenyx Rising is a genuine joy to play, and a real treat for Greek mythology lovers. It’s got personality to burn, and both puzzle and combat design capable of mechanically backing it up. It’s a shame that the platforming can be so unforgiving, and that crashes happen far more than you’d like them to, but these are both problems that can be rectified in future updates. Once that happens, Immortals could easily - and surprisingly - go down as one of the best games of the year.
Immortals Fenyx Rising does not manage to have the superb gameplay of Assassin’s Creed and the magic of a Zelda: it is in between. Its gameplay is effective, and its puzzles very well thought out and with its humor and its enchanting universe to the charming artistic direction it manages to retain the player but it misses this little something to make a great game that we will not forget because it lacks depth.
The only saving grace is that some of the elements it lifts from much better games are recreated adequately, so fans of those titles might find some of the fun of going to see a cover band of your favourite artist. You’ve likely not only played Immortals Fenyx Rising before, you’d played a better version of it.
Ubisoft Quebec aims for a grand epic tale and while the game doesn't quite hit those heights, the developer does put together a pretty good summer blockbuster.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is an excellent new adventure title for Ubisoft, full to bursting with genuine comedy, excellent gameplay, and devious puzzles. While there are a few technical hiccups, underutilized DualSense, and sub-30 fps Switch ports, the game is fantastic on all platforms. Come for the bizarre Greek mythology, stay for the stellar gameplay -- Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a fantastic holiday treat.
Immortals Fenyx Rising feels like a game full of contrasts, but nonetheless it's still manages to be the most noteworthy Ubisoft release in quite some time. The lack of a budget and obviously tight production time, on top of a really big scale this game has, stopped this project from achieving its full potential. And yet, when it's still long ways to go before Breath of the Wild 2, Fenyx Rising will surely find it's playerbase.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is overall a great game that I’m excited to keep coming back to, but the Switch version is such a disappointment that I’m strongly considering starting my entire playthrough over on another platform. I love the setting based in Greek mythology, and I’ve been enjoying the adventure almost non-stop, only ever getting bored during the icon hunt whenever I reach a new area once every couple of hours. It’s a shame that Switch players will be getting such a compromised version, since I really feel like the weak port does a huge disservice to everything the game succeeds at. I think you should play Immortals: Fenyx Rising, but you should not do so on Switch if you can help it.
Overall, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a good game. It's a shameless clone, but it's fun, and it's clear that Ubisoft's take on the formula was done with enthusiasm. If you were disappointed that this year's Breath of the Wild game was a Dynasty Warriors title, then Immortals might scratch that itch. It's always going to live in the shadow of the games that inspired it, but sometimes, all you want to do is climb some cliffs and slay some monsters, and Immortals provides exactly what it promises.
Immortals Fenyx Rising offers a world that you can’t help but explore, with some truly impressive dungeon design. The game’s only let down is its simple puzzles and painful menu navigation.
The story can be hit or miss and the bosses are a letdown, but the world of Immortals Fenyx Rising is a lot of fun to explore, and uncovering its slew of secrets will keep players entertained for many hours.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is not as hyper-polished an experience as its clear inspiration, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it succeeds at creating its own identity thanks to excellent and comedic use of Greek mythology, a fast combat system that offers lots of satisfying character upgrades for Fenyx, and a wide assortment of unique weapons and armor to collect that keeps exploration rewarding. If you love Breath of the Wild, you would be out of your mind not to try Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Ultimately, Immortals Fenyx Rising may not take itself too seriously but it ends up offering an emotional story of family drama with some genuinely funny moments. There is a lot of familiarity both in the game's DNA and the core gameplay loops, but it is still a fun experience nonetheless. Immortals Fenyx Rising, as with all new IP, may have been a risky jump for Ubisoft, but it was a leap worth taking.
Immortals contains all the ingredients I want from an epic, open-world adventure steeped in mythology. With empowering combat, rewarding exploration, and a story that shines a spotlight on its characters through humor, Immortals Fenyx Rising leverages its myriad inspirations to discover its own identity and deliver an outstanding open-world experience.
